These are 2 quotes from my current book and I want to know what you think about them.
"You can hide who you are , you live half a life. You speak up, then you can be who you was meant to be"
"I say that when you got a voice, you damn well better tell the world who you are. Or somebody else will."
These are quotes said by the girl's grandmother's sister. The girl doesn't speak only reads. She starts talking to her, because the girl's mom and and her mom's new boyfriend went to Vegas.

the first quote seems to mean that if you hide yourself, you are hiding the truth from the world. if you come right out and say something, everyone will know how you are and understand you.
the second, i think means that if you'll dnt show the real you, someone will. and it's alays best to say it yourself. perhaps the person speaking for you says something wrong. no one knows you better than you.
the girl's grandmther seems very wise. i think she gives very good advice.
Though the lady is nasty. Everything has to be dirty and she doesnt let the girl clean
she is nasty? i do not understand when you say "doesn't let the girl clean." what does this mean? then is the lady trying to teach the girl something?
Yeah, when the girl doesnt speak, she says these kind of stuff, but normally shes like a witch telling her to stop believeing her parents will come back
o. i understand. her parents abandoned her? wat book is it? can you realate to the girl? is she poor or something? does the grandmother tell her to do work al day?
What happens is theres a girl, doesnt say her name(lets call her alli)So Alli doesn;'t talk, she reads and thats it. when she speaks she studders like when asked her name "Ccccccc..."
So then her mom finds a boyfriend and Alli overheard them talking about going to Vegas and leaving her with the grandma. SOOOO the grandma lives on a barn/farm so Alli has to help like with getting food and stuff but the grandma says theyres no point of cleaning. SO Alli continues waiting for her mother, but she hasn't arrived yet. (Im in the middle of the book)
