ಟೆಲ್ ಡಾರ್ಕ್ ನಿನ್ಜ ವಾಟ್ ಯೌ ಥಿಂಕ್ ಅಬೌಟ್ ದಿಸ್ ಮೆಮೊಇರ್

It stared two summers ago. My mom was looking for one of her actors,
His name is Jaime, he wouldn’t answer her calls. So my mom and I basically went on a man hunt. After my mom went in about five houses I wanted to go in one I went to the first floor no sign of him. When I went to the second floor no one so when I went downstairs I was still holding the door when he drove by on his motorcycle I closed the door and my pinkie got caught in-between the hinges of door. The door took 0.83 seconds to close. It is suppose to take three seconds for the door to close. From that on it was blurry. Till we got to the hospital then my mom told me that my finger was hanging from a piece of flesh. She even told me my big brother was coming. She told me that the tip of my pinkie was fractured and I had to get 10 little stitches. When my brother came tears came streaming down my face then that minute I noticed the only family I have is my mother and my brother. I noticed this because my own father didn’t come and he lives closer than my brother Jason my brother lives three hours away and my father lives fifteen minutes away. My brother stayed as long as he could before he had to go because it was a three hour ride. Then after that day I noticed who my family is and who loves me and I noticed it’s a lot more people than I thought.

Journal?

Do you think it would be good to keep a journal that you can talk about your books and write down the important things we learn everyday? We could write for example: The discussion forum rules and what to do for metacognition. We could write memoirs and little stories. I think it would be a good idea and I want your opinion !

What Image Represents You Most?

This image represents me because the sun.. like me, shows only some things to people I trust. Some of the sun doesnt sneak through the trees. Like me, I keep some things for only me to know.
What image represents you most? This path is also like my life. It continues for a while but it ends. The enviorment around my life affects me and it also affects the road. There are other images that represent me and who I am, but this affects a part of me

Quotes

Gabriel: Well...life is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Peter: Not everyone is meant to make a difference. But for me, the choice to lead an ordinary life is no longer an option.

What do you think about these quotes

Character Traits

I will like to know the character traits of any character in the book you are reading now or a book you read. Show me textual support, paraphraze, or explain the characteristic feature(s). Tell me the title and author. For example; in "The Laundry News" by Gary Soto, the main character, Cara Laundry, the characteristics to describe her would be; shy because in the book she was always the kind of girl who sitted alone in the back and never talked to any body. She is also creative because in the book she made her own class newspaper by herself which is odd and creative. Now you try!

1 Of each

If you could only bring one:
1) book
2) food
3) shelter
What would you bring?

If you where trapped on an island and could take one thing.

No Electronics or jets cars boats etc. You have to survive there!!! (For 6 years)

I'm in competition mode....

A person in my class and I have a little bet that I could read 100 books during the entire school year.( no prize just for fun) Do you know any interesting books that might get me to that goal???

P.S. I already read all the Twilight books.

Help Me Make My Homework Better

Shy To Brave

People would find the most surprising thing about me was that when I was little I was shy. I didn't "like to sing, dance, or even talk. Basically I didn't like to get in front of people. I remember once in a pta meeting (in elementry school) I voluntered to say the pledge of aligence. I standed up and grapped the microphone. I took a glanc at the audience (20-30 people) and froze. I forgot every word in the pledge. I asked the president of the pta to tell them to me.Then after I finished saying the pledge (kind of) I started walking back to my seat. While I was going back I tripped over the microphone's cord. I was such humaliated, but now I changed alot. I'm not shy anymore. I am brave.

Any opinions?

This is my memoir I wrote over the weekend following a major point in my life was...

Realizing how much my life wasnt how I thought itwas truly changed me. It all started with my sister. Her problems at school devolped issues at home. Living with disagreements and difficulties. I began feeling a load of pressure on my shoulders.I had to be good enough for my family. I felt as if I had a standard. What if I mess up? Will I end up like my sister?I get the PRESSURE ten times worse because of what she dId. We arent the perfect family we would never be.Sometimes I feel as though I should change, that I should be different. I dont want to always be depressed because life may end quicker than expected/Dont cry over spilled milk because you never know when life could run away. I guess you dont know what it means to be grateful for what you've got until its ACTUALLY gone.

What do you think?
You may not understand buts its something that personally affects me(:

listen to this!Any comments/tips??

"Ohhhh",I groaned. My mouth was parched. My muscles were strained.I felt like I have just been pelted with a metal post on my head.I felt like I was flying. Not happily flying, painfully flying."Please God,cure me from this misery".It was no use,I couldn't even open my eyes.I grimaced in pain and let out a sharp cry.My eye's feeling like 1,000,000 tons,I opened them, slowly.I could see the light yet, it hurt me more. The light was too strong.I tried to get up,it wouldn't work."C'mon Shawn",I thought to myself,"Get up!"I finally got up.My body throbbed with pain.I suffered in misery, though,I fought it off.I slid off the bed.I approached the sink cautiously when suddenly,"Grrrrrr.""AAIIEEE!!", I yelled with pain.My throat was burning like fire.I gulped the water down rapidly.I threw up all over...I woke up to find myself in Wyckoff Hospital.I was on an uncomfortable cot. There was a bag ov I.V. joining me on my side with his friend needle in my forearm.*Beep,Beep,Babeep!*the alarm sounded off.I looked around suspiciously."Ms.Negron!" the nurse called. My mom went up to her.My mom came back with a mixture of emotions."Iv'e got some good news and bad news."I wasn't in the mood for bad news, I was feeling bad already."The good news is;you're going to be just fine when they're done with you.the bad news is;they might keep you for acouple of days."I groaned and said,"what's wrong with me?"my mom sighed and said"you're dehydrated.i didn't react.I didn't think it was a bad thing.I mean, i was only like 7 how could i understand what it meant?I tried to wake myslef up as if i were in a dream. It didn't work so i just gave up.It was a living nightmare.I sighed with failure.Acouple of hours later I was done, and i didn't have to stay!!I was good as new now but it's funny how i felt sick a few minutes ago.Anyway I was glad I came out,I would never forget those four days of this sickness.

Homework Due on Monday, December 8th

Hi there,

I hope you guys are having a great weekend. As you know, we've been immersing ourselves in the memoir unit. I asked you to pick a memoir that was of significance to your life, something that changed you/taught you a lesson. Even though you chose your topic and memoir, it's always important that you continue writing.

In your free-write section, choose one of the following memoir story starters and begin to write your story. As your writing, think of your own craft and style and how you can incorporate all that you’ve learned in writing this year (craft, style, and grammar).

People would find the most surprising thing about me was that...
The greatest hurdle I ever had to overcome was...
A major turning point in my life was...

Help Me Pick The Next Book To Read

I just got about 7 new books from the library: All Fear Street and I want your opinion on which is most interesting. Here is the most interesting part of the blurb in the back of each book

Midnight Games
"Until the evil returns, and the Night People start mysteriously disappearing one by one. Dana swears she has nothing to do with it. But all fingers point in one direction. Because there is, after all, a new Fear in town..."
Killer's Kiss
"Karina's determined to get Vince. She'll do whatever it takes. And if she can't have him, she'll make sure no one else can either... Including Delia"
All-Night Party
"Except there's a madman loose on the island. A murderer who quietly crashes the party. And he wants a dance with the birthday girl..."
Secret Admirer
"So when she starts recieving dead flowers from a secret "admirer" named The Sun, she just assumes it's a harmless fan. But Selena realizes that The Sun is serious..dead serious. First, her understudy is injured in a suspicious accident. Then a speeding car almost kills her! Selena doesn't know what this psycho wants... All she knows is that her number-one fan has become her number-one nightmare"
The New Girl
"Anna may be the love of his life.. but finding out her secret might mean his death."
The Rich Girl
"Now Emma is terrified. She doesn't trust Jason. She knows he would do anything to get the money for himself. Even if it means killing someone who gets in his way..."

What do you think some of these books could be about? Do you predict anything for any of these books? Can you visualize anything from any story? Which is most interesting?

Quotes from my book

These are 2 quotes from my current book and I want to know what you think about them.

"You can hide who you are , you live half a life. You speak up, then you can be who you was meant to be"

"I say that when you got a voice, you damn well better tell the world who you are. Or somebody else will."

These are quotes said by the girl's grandmother's sister. The girl doesn't speak only reads. She starts talking to her, because the girl's mom and and her mom's new boyfriend went to Vegas.

my when i was little

When i was little, a bird pooped on my shoulder. I was walking with my mom and we were nearing the bridge. I hated that bridge. Pigeons and birds usually parked themselves at the top. We were at the middle, almost coming out of the darekness, but just then, SQUAWK! SQUAWK! I heard a bird flying overhead. Before I knew it, PLOP! What was that, I thought frantically, although I had a pretty good idea of what was perched on my shoulder. My mom looked over and her face became as red as a balloon, about to burst with laughter. She stared and stared at my shoulder. I was petrified, and my heart was beating over-time. I tried reassuring myself that it was not what I thought it was. But when I slowly turned my head to peer at my shoulder, a scream escaped from my mouth and I stood there motionless, mouth open, gaping at the sight of the bird poop nestled on my shoulder. My mother bent over hugging her stomache with laughter. If this didnt happen to me, I would probably laugh too. "Take off your jacket!" my mom said, finally reviving form laughter. I didnt need to be told twice. I gladly pulled off the jacket and pushed it into my mother's awaiting arms and took off running as fast as a rocket. I was so content to get the disgusting sight and stench off me that I didnt even mind the chill in the wind, wrapped around me. My mother ran after me, holding the jacket at arms length. by the time we reached home, we were breathless. I put my hands on my knees and leaned forward, breathing hard. My mom ushered me inside and I plopped myself on the sofa.

interesting parts?

hi everyone! are there any interesting parts in the book you are currently reading? can you relate to them? so far, how do you like the book?

help me revise my memoir and give advice

tripping...falling...learning

one step changed my life. One step turned out to be the worst mistake, yet the most valuable. I took a step and accidentally tripped over the old, brown, wooden steps. Down and down i went. Thump!thump!thump! Although the stairway ws not very long, the stairs looked forever on-going. My head started to spin and felt heavy. Blood dripped down my forehead as my ear-piercing scream sliced through the heavy summer air. Since my scream ws so loud, my friend's grandma came running down the stairs after me. A trail of dark blood marked my path of horror. A total nightmare. Petrified, i desperately tried to grab onto the railing, but failed at my attempt. Why this changed my life you ask? Because I learned to always becareful where i step. Physically, and in life. I learned that there are many roads for us to take in life, and it is up to us to make the best possible choice for ourselves. This memory not only left a mark on my forehead, but also in my life. A dent in the road I'm traveling, the journey that I am taking.

AAAWWUBBIS

hi everyone! remember the AAAWWUBBIS? can anyone think of any other words like AAAWWUBBIS? I can think of using, jumping, walking, running, eating, but you know what? those are all action words. i can't think of any that aren't can you? the reason they probably didnt add that to the AAAWWBBIs is because there are too many!
Swimming in the water, I felt calm.
Running accross the yard, I heard my mom call me.
Using the phone, I called my friend for homework.
i think that maybe they should add an extra A for action. i do not mean, starting with that, but all the action words. action words are kind of AAAWWUBBIS's aren't they? what do you think, everyone?

Could someone post an example for: As,Although and If?
I'm not having a problem with the AAAWWUBBIS but sometimes I can't think of sentences for the words.

Help me fix this paragraph please....

The wind roared and whistled through the empty forest. The wind knocked the trees into silence. The only sound was Nikki running. The moonlight shone and projected it across the forest. The pacing footsteps of Nikki were fast and silent. Her breath caught up in words, words that couldn't build up the strength to come out. Nikki, running across the forest, out of breath and silent screams escaping her lips. The tiniest sounds made Nikki's heart race. The beating of her heart was fast, too fast. A piercing scream shattered the loneliness of the forest, escaping Nikki's lips as she grasped onto the tree branch.

How do you express your feelings?

Many people express their feelings in different ways.
Some draw, write, or talk. Some differently
How do you express your feelings to yourself and/or to the world
hi every one!
here's part of my book review. it's not done of course and i would like you to comment on how i can make it better.
Joey Willis is about 12 years old. She misses the sounds that she heard when she could hear. The beautiful sounds of birds chirping and the sound of the waves are still in her memory. She lives in Fort Bragg with her brother, Luke, her father, Ray and her beloved mom, Ruth. Her mom is the only one who Joey can hear (in her mind). Her mother is very protective and keen about Joey doing well in school. She will not allow Joey to learn sign language, so Joey has to struggle with reading lips. Sometimes, Joey can’t read them, so communication is hard. Luke is a young, energetic boy who Joey adores. She plays with him, and in the book, she hugs and kisses him while he screams and kicks. Ray is her stepfather. He has a long mustache, so Joey can’t see his lips and can’t talk to him. Ruth needs to translate. But now she seems to be pulling away. In the book, “The only person Joey had ever trusted completely was her mother and she felt like Ruth was pulling away. She couldn’t understand why adding Roxy, Charlie, and Sukari to her life might mean breaking the bond she and her mother had.” Roxy is her best friend, because Roxy’s mom is deaf, but Roxy is Joey’s only friend. But everything changed when Joey went out to pick mushrooms. She went into territory she’d never gone before. She met Dr. Charles Mansell (Charlie) and his chimp, Sukari (Sue-car-e). Charlie is a kind old man who understands Joey’s deafness, for both his parents were deaf. Sukari was a baby chimp that Charlie took in to prevent her from going into research labs. Charlie is very angry toward the suffering chimpanzees go through in shows and experiments. Charlie and Sukari both know sign language and Joey’s world is glowing with possibilities. But her mother will soon find out about the secret that Joey tries to hide… There are many parts in the book. One part which stirred my emotions was when an earthquake happened. It really caused many thoughts to run through my head. After the earthquake, Sukari ran over to Joey’s house. Urgently, she pulled Joey and her family in the direction of Charlie’s house. What they find… you need to read. What will happen to Sukari?
hope to talk soon!

Comment on my sentences

The wind roared and whistled through the empty forest. The wind knocked the trees into silence.

A piercing scream shattered the lonliness of the forest.

Her breath caught up in words, words that couldn't build up the strength to come out.

Comment on these sentences and how could I make them better. I'm writing a small story and these are some of the sentences in the first paragraph and I wanted to know if I can make them better

Snapshot Writing and Description

hello classes 603 and 621,

Ms. Justic and I are working on our descriptive writing. We would like for you guys to take a look at what we wrote and how we mimicked the following snapshot:

The Beach
I was in dazed as I stared out over the vast amount of water. The salty air surrounded my tense body and seemed to be pushing me towards the big blue ocean. I breath in deeply, trying to get myself together before i attemped the long journey from the beach to the ocean. The wind picked up slightly, and the sand began whirling around my legs, stinging them. I close my eyes and began walking forward. Images of sharks and whales began swimming through my mind. I can see there large canine teeth tearing me apart piece by piece. I came to a sudden stop as my bare feet came in contact with the cold, salty water. Chills were racing up my back and I felt the need to turn and run back toward the safety of the beach towel. For some reason, I took another unsure step. The water raced around my ankles now and waves came toward me. I started walking at a steady pace now. The water was up to my knees then my waste. The water felt so good, so refreshing. I soon forgot my fears and began enjoying my first trip to ocean.

Millicent Min and Misfits Reflections

I think it's essential that we conclude our books with reflections. Using our responses from classwork and homework, let's begin discussing our thoughts.

Welcome to Our Class Blog!!!

"The unexamined life is not worth living."- Socrates

Dear Classes 603 and 621,

I'm really excited about embarking on this new journey. I know this process will help us deepen our thinking as readers, writers, listeners, and speakers. One of the most important factors for creating this blog was to open up another outlet for your voice to be heard, allowing your peers, parents, and teachers to respond to your comments in an insightful way. Take chances with your writing experiences and reading reflections.

I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting experience.

Love,
Ms. Justic

P.S. How do you think the quote that I used applies to our blog?
